Geneviève
Blouin

President & Founder
Geneviève is the President and Founder of Altervest and she brings over 28 years of experience in the financial sector. Prior to founding Altervest in 2010, Geneviève worked for some of the largest financial institutions and pension funds in Canada, such as la Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ), TAL Private Wealth, and Pictet Canada. When she was fresh out of university, she got a young entrepreneur's loan and started her financial career as an independent futures contract trader on the floor of the Montreal Stock Exchange.
Geneviève graduated from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and she also holds a CFA and CMT charter. In 2014, she founded the Emerging Managers' Board (EMB: https://emergingmanagers.ca/), a non-profit organization that promotes Canadian emerging managers.

Thomas was part of the Québec Private Equity team at Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec. He worked on several major transactions in Quebec, including a significant investment in Uni-Select before its acquisition by LKQ for $2.1 billion and the Canam privatization, valued at $875 million. He was also involved in developing and managing an options overlay strategy at a private single-family office.
Currently, Thomas leads the Private Wealth division at Altervest. He also chairs the Investment Advisory Committee, which comprises a panel of industry experts responsible for conducting rigorous due diligence. This thorough vetting process ensures that only the most qualified managers and funds are selected for inclusion on our open architecture platform, providing our investors with confidence in the integrity and excellence of our processes. He focuses on delivering personalized service and building strong client relationships. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Daniel has established himself as a leader in capital raising, product development, and executive management at both national and global firms. Before joining Altervest, Daniel held pivotal roles in sales and marketing for the capital raising divisions of esteemed organizations such as RBC, Lazard, Nuveen and Trez Capital.
As Managing Director of Capital Markets at Cameron Stephens, Daniel played a crucial role in crafting the strategy that significantly accelerated the growth of the Mortgage Trust. His academic background includes a degree in Economics from Concordia University, and he is fluent in English and French, with conversational proficiency in Italian.
Daniel is a friendly person, always ready to offer his support and share his expertise. As a father of four daughters, he places great importance on supporting and mentoring women in their professional development.
Frédéric

Frédéric, a lawyer by profession, has accumulated 25 years of experience in corporate law, securities, and macroeconomic finance. After working for major Canadian law firms, he founded a renowned law firm in Montreal, which he sold in 2018.
His passion for financial markets led him to Chicago, where he refined his skills under the guidance of a globally renowned macroeconomic trader. Building on this expertise, he went on to establish two technology startups in Toronto and Montreal. Today, he leverages his experience by developing automated technologies and strategies for global markets and international equities.
