Our investment philosophy as a boutique firm is inclusive and gives you unconstrained access to managers. We do a thorough risk analysis of each managers, from whom we often have direct access to, given our leadership position in the industry. Capital preservation is key for us and we seek managers that show a greater ability to preserve capital than their pears. Portfolio construction also includes correlation analysis aiming to deliver more stable portfolios. Most importantly, we aim to maximize net returns (net of all fees & taxes) for our clients.
Description of strategy
This turn key hybrid portfolio mandate combines both traditional and alternative investments. Depending on market conditions, our investment experts will optimize exposure to both investment types aiming to deliver the best risk adjusted returns.
The traditional equity portion of the portfolio seeks to reduce costs by investing in ETFs (Equity traded Funds) which have greater odds of outperforming mutual funds. High conviction stock picks are added to the equity portion to add more performance (capture alpha). On the fixed income portion we seek mangers who are experts in a specific niche strategy.
Alternative investments are used as an additional diversification tool to optimize the portfolio. As a result, we aspire to create a performing and stable portfolio that can steer through challenging market conditions so you can better sleep at night.

The North American equity mandate seeks to take advantage of the unpredictable markets environments to buy quality assets at a discounted price. Strict acquisition criteria must be met prior to investing. Each investment opportunity is unique and has a precise horizon and a rigorous price target. In addition, we maintain a high cash level to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. Technical analysis is also solicited to actively manage positions and to identify ideal buying and selling points.
Description of strategy
The Canadian equity socially responsible mandate caters to investors who wish to align Environmental, Social and Governance values with their investments. The mandate screens for equities that have a minimum long-term return on investments combined with an ESG score screen. The portfolio must reach a minimum average ESG score. Although certain companies are systematically excluded (gambling, drugs and smoking), other sector exposure might be allowed but limited to the ESG leaders in their domain.
